About Our Prints
What filament and materials do you use?
We select the most appropriate filament for each product to ensure the best possible result. Our range includes:
- PLA Matte — a smooth, low-sheen finish ideal for display props and collectibles
- PLA Silk — a higher-sheen finish that gives a polished, premium appearance
- PLA+ — an enhanced PLA offering improved strength, durability, and impact resistance over standard PLA. The majority of our cosplay blaster kits are printed in grey PLA+, providing an ideal neutral base for painting and custom detailing
- PLA Glow in the Dark — used on select products for added visual effect
- PETG — used where higher temperature resistance and added strength are required, such as lamp components and items likely to experience heat or stress
- Carbon Fibre composite — used where maximum rigidity and strength are needed
The specific material used is noted on individual product pages where relevant.
Can I request a specific colour?
Yes — colour requests are always welcome. We stock a vast range of filament colours and are happy to accommodate requests. If we do not currently hold the colour you need, we will source it. Simply get in touch before or after ordering to discuss your preference.
What level of detail can I expect?
All products are printed at premium layer heights to ensure crisp detail. Display props and collectibles are finished to a high standard suitable for shelf display.
Are supports and surface imperfections removed before dispatch?
Yes — all items undergo full post-production clean-up before shipping. This includes complete support removal and surface finishing to eliminate any lumps or bumps, ensuring a clean, display-ready finish straight out of the box.
How do you ensure quality before dispatch?
Every item is individually inspected before shipping. We check for warping and any warped parts are discarded and reprinted — we do not send substandard prints. Where applicable, test fits are carried out on multi-part items to confirm all components align correctly before the order is packed.
Are items painted or finished?
Unless stated otherwise, items are supplied unpainted. Some products are available in pre-finished variants — check the product listing for options.
How durable are the prints, and what happens if something breaks?
For products likely to see handling or play use, we increase the infill density during printing to improve strength and reduce the risk of breakage. However, as with all 3D printed items, we cannot eliminate all risk of damage — particularly under heavy or unintended stress.
If any individual parts break within 30 days of purchase, we are happy to reprint and send replacement parts. You will only be charged for the cost of postage — the replacement parts themselves are provided free of charge. Please contact us with your order details and we will get replacements out to you as quickly as possible.
Is there a maximum size for prints?
Our current print bed capacity is 256 x 256 x 256mm. For items that exceed this size, we are able to split the model into sections, print each part separately, and join them together to achieve the finished piece. This is handled by us using a Bambu P1S printer and the results are seamless where possible. If you have a large custom item in mind, just get in touch and we will advise on feasibility.
Kits & Assembly
How are kits packaged?
Every kit arrives in protective packaging, presented to a standard we are proud of. Each package includes product artwork, printed assembly instructions, and individually bagged components for added protection during transit. Our packaging is designed so that items can be given directly as a gift — no extra wrapping required.
What is included in a kit?
Each kit listing clearly states all included components. Most kits include all parts required for assembly; consumables such as glue or paint are not included unless specified.
How difficult are the kits to assemble?
Difficulty levels vary by product and are indicated on each listing. Beginner-friendly kits require no specialist tools, while advanced kits may require modelling experience.
What tools will I need?
Basic assembly typically requires plastic-compatible adhesive and optionally fine sandpaper for finishing. Product-specific guidance is included where applicable.
Production & Lead Times
Are your products made to order?
Yes — every product is made to order. We do not mass-produce or hold pre-built stock. This means each item is printed, cleaned, quality checked, and packaged specifically for you.
How long will production take?
Most designs require a minimum of 1–2 days to print and prepare before dispatch. More complex or larger items may take longer. We appreciate your patience and will always aim to get your order to you as quickly as possible without compromising on quality.
Do you value customer feedback?
Absolutely — good or bad, your feedback matters to us. We are a small, sole-owner business and we genuinely strive to provide the best possible service, products, and presentation to every customer. If there is anything we can do better, we want to know. Please do not hesitate to get in touch.

Custom & Bespoke Orders
I've found a design I love elsewhere — can you print it for me?
Absolutely — if you have found a model or design you love from another source, simply purchase the digital files from that designer and send the print files to us. We will review them, provide a print price, and get them made and sent out to you. It is a great way to get exactly what you want printed to a high standard without needing your own printer.
Can you print my own design?
Yes — we accept custom print requests for your own designs supplied in STL format. Simply get in touch with your file and any relevant details and we will review it for printability.
Who owns my digital files if I supply them?
Any digital files you provide to 3DCre8Design remain your property at all times. We use your files solely for the purpose of completing production of the requested part or product and for nothing else. Your designs will not be shared, reproduced, or used for any other purpose without your explicit permission.
Can you help with R&D and prototyping?
Yes — we are happy to support research and development projects and prototype production. Whether you need a single proof-of-concept part or iterative prototype runs, get in touch to discuss your requirements and we will provide a free quotation.
Can you design something from scratch for me?
We also take on bespoke design requests. Whether you have a concept, reference images, or a brief, we are happy to discuss your project and work up a design for printing.
Who owns the CAD design if you create it for me?
Any CAD design created by 3DCre8Design on behalf of a customer remains the intellectual property of 3DCre8Design. The customer receives the physical printed item(s) as agreed. If you wish to obtain ownership of the digital design files, a separate digital licence agreement can be arranged — please raise this during your consultation and we will provide details and pricing accordingly.
How does the process work?
We begin with a brief consultation to understand your requirements — this can be done via email or message. Once we have the details we need, we will provide a free, no-obligation quotation. There is no commitment required until you are happy to proceed.
